Moving Beyond Impasse: How Dialogue Works at the Mediation Table: A Workshop with the Public Conversations Project

  • 02 Nov 2010
  • 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 51 Kondazian Street, Watertown, MA
Are you a mediator, ombudsperson, judicial advocate, or dispute resolution practitioner? Would you like to learn additional techniques for shifting difficult negotiations?

When mediations reach an impasse, dialogue methods can be used to create new momentum. Many mediators have found that thinking and practices drawn from the field of dialogue help them achieve a new kind of stance: one that invites the parties to better connect with others, break logjams, and move forward. This workshop offers an opportunity for mediators to explore how the tools of dialogue can enhance their practices.

It will be led by Bob Stains, the Public Conversations Project's Senior VP, and Melissa Brodrick, the Ombudsperson for Harvard's Medical School, School of Dental Medicine, and School of Public Health.

Sponsored by the Public Conversations Project. We offer CE credits through NBCC and MAMFT. Workshop cost is a sliding scale from $125 to $250 (sliding scale; pay what you or your organization can afford). 20% off second registration if more than one person attends from the same organization. Coffee, light breakfast, and lunch included.
