MCFM Professional Development Workshop: The Ansin Case

  • 13 Oct 2010
  • 2:00 PM - 3:59 PM
  • Wakelin Room 1, Wellesley Free Library, 530 Washington Street, Wellesley, Massachusetts

In this workshop sponsored by the Mass Council on Family Mediation, presenters John A. Fiske and Laurie Israel will discuss the implications of the Ansin case for family mediators.

On July 16, 2010, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court unanimously lifted the fog surrounding contracts between spouses in favor of these post-marital agreements, as long as certain conditions are met. In the absence of coercion or fraud, the court is likely to uphold them.

Among the questions this prompts: What do you say at the first meeting? How can you help save a marriage without practicing therapy? How can you learn more about how to add this skill to your practice?

This workshop is free to MCFM members and their guests, but reservations are recommended. To save a space, email admin@mcfm.org.
