The Listening Triangle: A Mediator's Most Facilitative Instrument/MWI

Through the strategic use of questioning and listening skills, mediators empower people to shift their focus from the problems of the past to their interests in the present, then develop options to produce a future-oriented agreement. The biggest question is how. To help mediators and negotiators master the essentials of questioning and listening, MWI training faculty member Moshe Cohen created The Listening Triangle. It is a model which promotes effective communication, flexible enough for use at all stages of the mediation process and particularly adept at identifying interests. A refresher for either new or more experienced mediators on this invaluable tool, perhaps the mediator's most facilitative instrument, this workshop is a worthwhile time commitment for all of us. Join Moshe, MWI mediators and other ADR colleagues to revisit best practices for finding interests within positions, making your mediations more efficient and helping parties achieve their goals.

MWI Roundtable events are free for all active MWI mediators. Those who are not actively mediating with the MWI Court Panel are welcome to attend up to two Roundtables per year for free. RSVP is required for all attendees and can be completed by registering online. For more information on this and other upcoming MWI Roundtables, click here.
