The 2017 NEACR Spring Program will be held at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center on Thursday, May 4 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Jamila Raqib, Executive Director of the Albert Einstein Institution, will serve as keynote speaker and deliver a presentation on nonviolent resistance in the world today and what we can learn from global movements.


The Albert Einstein Institution is a nonprofit organization which promotes the worldwide study and strategic use of nonviolent resistance, a pragmatic technique of action that uses social, economic, and political tools for diverse objectives, such as opposing dictatorship and combating corruption, and attaining political rights, economic justice, environmental protection, and women’s empowerment. Jamila consults with activists and organizers, human rights organizations, academics, and government bodies in numerous countries. She also serves as a media commentator on nonviolent action and oversees the dissemination of resources and writings on the topic.


The evening's agenda will look as follows:


  • 5:30pm-6:15pm - Attendee arrival with light refreshments
  • 6:15pm-6:30pm - NEACR Annual Meeting speaker introduction
  • 6:30pm-7:30pm - Presentation on Nonviolent Action from Jamila Raqib
  • 7:30pm-8:00pm - Program remarks, facilitated Q&A


Once event registration has been completed, NEACR is unable to honor refund requests. Those who have registered but are no longer available to attend will be able to transfer their attendance to a friend or colleague who has not yet registered.
