Beyond Bullying Prevention: Training Active Bystanders (TAB) Teleseminar

  • 26 May 2011
  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
  • Teleseminar
This teleseminar from 1-2pm on May 26, 2011, EST, is titled "Beyond Bullying Prevention: Training Active Bystanders."

Co-hosted by the New England chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution and the National Association for Community Mediation, the seminar will feature speakers Sharon Tracy, Susan Wallace, and Keely Malone from Quabbin Mediation in Orange, MA.

Training Active Bystanders’s written curriculum, taught in schools and community settings, significantly reduces violence and promotes a norm in which bullying and harm doing are not acceptable. Speakers in the teleseminar will discuss the inhibitors and the promoters of active bystandership, the harm-doing continuum, and the evolution of behaviors in individuals and communities. They will give an overview of the train-the-trainers model and the structure in which community mediation programs partner with schools to implement TAB.

Format: 30-minute presentation, 30-minute question and answer session.

The cost: free
