Community Mediation, Inc, established this award in 1993 to honor US District Court Judge Robert Zampano, a pioneer in mediation and alternative dispute resolution.

This year's award will be presented to attorney Joseph D. Garrison, who founded the firm Garrison, Levin-Epstein, Chimes, Richardson & Fitzgerald in 1975 and has become increasingly involved in arbitration and mediation.

The $50 fee for the event goes to support the work of Community Mediation, which promotes peaceful communities and just relationships through the use of mediation, education, training, facilitation, and dialogue.
